The Richmond Education Association is the local union affiliate of the Virginia Education Association and the National Education Association, representing more than 2.5 million public school employees nationwide.

Locally, the REA represents more than 2,500 Richmond public school employees, which provides representation, job protection, and membership services directly to the employees of the Richmond Public Schools.

VEA Retirement Meeting?


If you are planning to retire this year or sometime in the near future, you should make plans to attend one of the VEA’s Regional Retirement Meetings.
VEA retirement experts will answer your questions on how to determine your benefits, how disability benefits are calculated, which benefit option is best for you, how to purchase out-of-state service credit, and many, many more retirement issues.
